Blower Door from Retrotec

The goal: high indoor comfort.

Blower Door from Retrotec – accurate airtightness checks in buildings and ventilation ducts.

Effective and important airtightness measurements

Blower Door is an effective measurement solution for checking the airtightness of buildings using positive and negative pressure, measuring air flows between different parts of a building and performing tightness tests in ventilation ducts. The aim of these tightness tests is to detect air leaks that can cause draughts and condensation as well as unnecessary energy consumption. Measurements can also be taken as part of the design of mechanical ventilation systems.

Fan for Blower Door

Fan

Used to pressurize the building. The robust fan (with a 10-year warranty on the shell) is precision calibrated, has convenient rotary controls and can withstand high air pressures without deforming or cracking.

Differential pressure gauges

Differential pressure gauges

Ergonomic and easy-to-use gauge with built-in Wi-Fi. Features color-coded connections, apps for practice and leak testing, and high-resolution touchscreen with real-time display of pressure value curves.

Door panel for Blower Door

Door panel

Easily mounted together with the fan in the front door opening. Consists of a powerful aluminum frame and specially developed door cloth that allows very accurate pressure values.

Software for Blower Door

Software

Fantestic is a PC software for Windows that can be used to remotely control the pressure gauge from a computer and perform fully automated tightness tests and generate automatic test reports.

How density tests are carried out

  • Frame, door cloth and fan mounted in front door
  • Interior doors are open, exterior doors and windows closed
  • Kitchen fan and ventilation kept off
  • Air is blown in/out to create over/under pressure
  • Average values to achieve certain over/under pressure = measure of the tightness of the house

Airtightness course included

Free course included!

A full-day course in airtightness testing is included in the purchase of the Blower Door models retrotec 5100 and retrotec 300. The course is held at Nordtec in Gothenburg and is led by an experienced expert who goes through the basics of airtight construction and shows how to carry out a tightness test and locate any air leaks.

See exactly where there is air leakage

A Retrotec Blower Door is great for performing tightness tests in residential and commercial buildings. But to pinpoint the exact location of air leaks in a house, you need a thermal imaging camera. We have thermal imaging cameras from Testo that quickly give you thermal images that clearly reveal where there are leaks. Check out the range and find the right camera that can help you detect invisible defects, to ensure high indoor comfort and low energy consumption.
